Yonder's Instagram Integration Is Here!

Here's something we've noticed about tourism operators: the best ones meet their guests where they are.

Not where it's convenient. Not where the systems work best. Where the guests actually are.

And right now? A lot of guests are on Instagram — watching your Reels, saving your posts, and sliding into your DMs with questions like "is this suitable for a bachelorette group?" or "do you run this in winter?"

Those conversations matter. And until now, managing them meant context-switching out of everything else you were doing to respond in-app.

Not anymore.

Introducing: Instagram in Yonder Inbox

You can now connect your Instagram Business account directly to Yonder Inbox; the same central hub where you're already managing your other guest conversations.

When a guest DMs you on Instagram, it shows up in Yonder. You reply from Yonder. Everything stays synced. It's that straightforward.

This follows hot on the heels of our WhatsApp integration, which launched earlier this year. The thinking behind both is the same: your guests shouldn't have to find your preferred channel. And you shouldn't have to chase theirs.

Yonder Inbox is becoming the one place where all of it lives.

How It Works

  • Guest sends you a DM on Instagram
  • It appears instantly in Yonder Inbox
  • Reply from Yonder, or from Instagram directly; both stay in sync
  • Your whole team can see the conversation, no logins shared, no messages missed

No new handles. No extra apps. Just fewer tabs.

A Few Things to Know

On messaging windows: Instagram requires guests to message you first. Once they do, you have a window to reply freely. If that window closes, they'll need to reach out again to reopen it (similar to how WhatsApp's 24-hour Customer Service Window works).

On media: Photos and videos shared by guests will be accessible in Yonder for 7 days before they expire.

On cost: There's currently no additional charge from Yonder for Instagram service messages. (Meta's API pricing is always worth keeping an eye on separately.)

What's Coming Next 👀

Here's what we're really excited about: the Yonder AI Chatbot is coming to Instagram.

That means guests who DM you asking about availability, pricing, or tour details will be able to get instant, accurate answers automatically, without your team lifting a finger. Just like it already works on your website and Facebook Messenger.
