The Voice Agent: A Yonder Customer's Handbook

Never miss another call (without running your staff into the ground)
February 16, 2026

The Yonder AI Voice Agent is an automated phone assistant that can answer incoming calls, understand caller intent, check booking availability, and connect guests with your business – all while working alongside your existing phone system.

Yonder customers can reach out to support@yonderhq.com to get started any time!

Whether it’s 3 AM or 3 PM, your AI Voice Agent answers every incoming call instantly; no hold music, no unanswered voicemails. This means more bookings, fewer lost opportunities, and happier customers.

To use it effectively, there are a few essential setup requirements you must meet before activation.

1. Location Eligibility

Currently, the AI Voice Agent is only available for customers with a US phone number (+1 country code).

If your business operates outside the United States but you’re interested in using the Voice Agent, you can contact the Yonder team to join the waitlist for international support.

2. Phone System Requirements

Your phone provider and phone setup must support certain features for the Voice Agent to function smoothly.

☎️ External Call Forwarding

  • The phone provider must allow forwarding of calls to an external number (Yonder’s Twilio number).
  • Without this capability, calls cannot be received by the Voice Agent.

📞 Multiple Phone Numbers Under One Account

  • You need at least two numbers on your account:
    • A primary business line that forwards to the Voice Agent
    • A secondary number for forwarding calls back to your team as needed

Optional: Scheduling / Office Hours Routing

  • If you want the Voice Agent to answer calls only at certain times (like after hours), your phone provider must support time-based routing — such as conditional forwarding or business hours rules.
  • If scheduling isn’t supported, the Voice Agent can still work, but alternative routing may be needed and could incur additional cost.

These requirements ensure that the Voice Agent can integrate with your existing phone service without forcing you to change providers or disrupt your current operations.

3. Booking System Integration

To give callers real-time availability information and help with bookings, your reservation system must first be connected to Yonder.

Supported booking system integrations allow the Voice Agent to:

  • identify active products
  • check availability
  • send SMS booking links directly to guests

If your booking system isn’t connected yet, refer to the Yonder integrations guides for specific steps.

4. Confirming Your Setup With Your Phone Provider

Before turning on the AI Voice Agent, verify the following with your phone provider or account representative:

  1. Can the system forward calls automatically to an external number?
  2. Can you host multiple phone numbers under one account?
  3. Can routing be adjusted based on business hours or schedule?

5. What the Voice Agent Can Do After Setup

Once all requirements are met, the Voice Agent will be able to:

✔ Answer incoming calls instantly
✔ Understand what callers want
✔ Transfer complex or urgent enquiries to your team
✔ Operate during after-hours
✔ Integrate with your booking system for real-time information

6. (Optional) Tracking Performance with Analytics

You can also connect Google Analytics 4 (GA4) within Yonder to track:

  • Bookings enabled by the Voice Agent
  • Revenue influenced by Voice Agent calls
  • Conversion activity tied to voice interactions

Setting up GA4 isn’t required to use the Voice Agent, but it’s recommended if you want full insight into how it’s performing.
